The Core Curriculum ·

The Core Curriculum is designed to introduce students to the most important texts, auth0rs, and ideas of the Western Tradition. It is undertaken and organized to identify the most critical truths concerning the human condition as these are illuminated by disciplines of learning. The curriculum is inspired to encourage thoughtful reflection, inquiry, investigation, dialogue, and disputation in the spirit of St. Thomas More, Venerable Cardinal Newman, and recently Pope John Paul II. Academically it is conceived according to the principles of Newman’s The Idea of a University, and as an endeavor in learning, it is undertaken in the light of Revelation and the teaching of the Magisterium of the Church.
